Travel Checklist

Go through this list before you travel. Have you thought about each of these? This includes what to bring on your journey.

Before you book


  • Have I looked up my destination? (places to go, quiet spaces, sensory-friendly options)

  • Have I checked the accessibility of where I am staying?

  • Have I contacted the travel company or hotel about any needs I have?

  • Have I booked travel at a time that works for me? (e.g. off-peak to avoid crowds)

Planning


  • Have I made a visual schedule or list of what will happen on my trip?

  • Have I looked at the route and know how to get to my first stop?

  • Have I printed or saved a communication card? (if I use one)

Items to bring on the journey


  • Noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs

  • Sunglasses (if bright light bothers me)

  • Comfortable clothes I like

  • Fidget tools or calming items

  • Weighted blanket, lap pad, or comfort item

  • Snacks and water I enjoy

  • Phone and charger

  • Something to do (book, tablet, music, game)

  • Sunflower lanyard (if I use one to show I may need extra support)

  • Any medication I need

On the day — final check


  • Do I have my tickets and any booking confirmations?

  • Do I have my ID or passport (if needed)?

  • Have I packed all my journey items? (headphones, snacks, comfort items, etc.)

  • Do I remember it is ok to rest, leave early, or change plans if I need to?
